Summer 2020, 35°C in the shade. We are in the southwest of the Greek island of Crete, more precisely in the 17 km long Samaria Gorge. The gorge is lined with vertical rock walls up to 600 m high, narrow paths and a few waterfalls that allow a passage of only three to four meters at the narrowest point of the gorge, at the so-called "iron gate".
